Bomb Threat Closes Anchorage Airport

A bomb threat closes Anchorage Airport, United States of America Saturday morning.


A China Airlines cargo flight with flight number CI5261 had departed Seattle, United States of America bound for Taipei, Taiwan at 02:05, while en-route a bomb threat was made against the aircraft and the flight was subsequently diverted to Anchorage


The China Airlines Boeing 747-409F with registration B-18715 departed Seattle bound for Taipei 5 minutes late at 02:05, while the aircraft was en-route. a threat was made against the plane to the Port of Seattle. Air Traffic Control notified the aircraft and instructions to divert to Anchorage was given, the aircraft landed at 06:32 after landing the aircraft taxied to a remote secure area.


Officers from the FBI, the Anchorage Airport Police and Fire Department, and the Anchorage Police Department were on scene Saturday morning, the airport said. 


Flights that were set to arrive at Anchorage Airport during the closure could have chosen to divert to Fairbanks International Airport instead.
