Anchorage Airport Reopens

Anchorage Airport reopens following the bomb threat which shut the United States of America airport Saturday morning.


China Airlines cargo flight with flight number CI5261 had departed Seattle, United States of America bound for Taipei, Taiwan at 02:05, while en-route a bomb threat was made against the aircraft and the flight was subsequently diverted to Anchorage


The China Airlines Boeing 747-409F landed at 06:32, after landing the aircraft taxied to a remote secure area. Officers from the FBI, the Anchorage Airport Police and Fire Department, and the Anchorage Police Department were on scene Saturday morning, the airport said. 


The FBI confirmed Saturday no suspicious packages were found onboard the China Airlines aircraft. Following clearance from the FBI, Anchorage Airport recommenced operations.


The rescheduled China Airlines flight CI5261 was due to depart Anchorage Airport at 20:30 and was later cancelled.
